About Us

Evolution Yoga has three beautiful studios for practice. Pre-Registration classes are held in Studio Ahimsa (Sanskrit for "non-harming"), which is our front studio. This sunny studio offers an intimate setting for these specialty classes. Studio Satya (Sanskrit for "truth") is our newest studio, with cork floors and a warm, nurturing feel. Our largest studio, Studio Tapas (Sanskrit for "zeal, drive") can hold up to 40 mats.
Janet Carscadden and Susan Cline Lucey started their lives on parallel journeys with passions for teaching. Their paths came to a cosmic collision in 2004 when they met at a party in Burlington, Vermont. Early on it was evident that they needed to align their passions.
Two years later their dreams became a reality with the opening of Evolution Physical Therapy and Yoga Studio. Susan and Janet value the beauty of human connections and created Evolution as a place where community can flourish.
Come have tea with us and begin the journey of evolution.
evoSEVA:
Seva is the Sanskrit word for "selfless service." evoSEVA is a program that facilitates yoga in the community and free classes for populations that might not otherwise encounter yoga. The 2010 evoSEVA project is a partnership with COTS (Committee on Temporary Shelter). Seva is a powerful part of karma yoga that Evolution Yoga explores with committment and open-heartedness.
evoSeva will come in many forms for COTS: Staff wellness/stress management and relaxation classes, Yoga Nidra, staff discounts here at the studio, appropriate yoga classes for clients as well as staff, kids yoga/family yoga for people in shelter, . . .contact us if you're interested in becoming involved. Namaste!
