Couples Yoga for Labor and Birth, with Susan Cline Lucey
In this one-time Friday night workshop, you and your partner will learn yoga, breath work, massage, and relaxation techniques for pregnancy, labor and birth. We'll cover a variety of labor support techniques and pain coping practices for the different stages of labor as well as counter-pressure tips to help with back pain during labor. Conversation will also focus on the physiology of labor, how/when to coach through a contraction, and the specific practice of non-focused awareness as a tool for labor. This workshop is a great way for you to connect as a couple in preparation for sharing the birth experience together - it's invaluable for first time parents, as well as for those second/third time parents who are not planning on taking a birth class but would like a class to connect around the baby and have a refresher on labor support techniques. Students find this workshop very helpful in the last stages of pregnancy.
June 7, July 12, August 9, September 13 and October 11

Improve Your Swimming Feldenkrais Workshop with Uwe Mester
In freestyle and backstroke, the rotation around the long axis of the body is of fundamental importance. For good, efficient swimming technique, the shoulders, torso and hips should all roll together as one. Long axis swimming (freestyle and backstroke) is basically an applied body roll.
In this “land-based” Feldenkrais® workshop, Uwe will teach a series of Awareness through Movement® lessons that will re-engage you with fun rolling patterns.
This workshop is beneficial not just to swimmers, since rolling is fundamental to human movement, as the ability to roll comes before crawling (quadrupedal movement) and all forms of bipedal movement (such as walking, jogging, and running).
You do not need prior Feldenkrais® experience to enjoy this workshop. Please bring a mat or blanket with you and wear comfortable clothes.
