Physical Therapy

Evolution Physical Therapy offers treatment of back pain, pelvic pain, neck pain, muscle imbalances and joint injuries of all body parts. Our licensed physical therapists Alison AikenJanet Carscadden, Michelle DowningMeagen Satinsky and Andrea Trombley are committed to providing evidence-based evaluation and treatment techniques.

Treatment sessions are individualized for each client based on diagnosis and recovery goals. All treatment is provided by licensed physical therapists. All of our PT’s are also certified yoga instructors and can build custom yoga programs to meet your recovery goals.  We are open Monday to Friday with early and late appointments. Our modern, beautiful facility offers private treatment areas, a large changing area, and three yoga studios with bamboo floors and natural light. Our office is conveniently located 5 minutes from downtown Burlington with easy access to I-89 and the bus line. There is ample parking in our private lot.

Physical Therapy Services

Evolution Physical Therapy offers treatment for orthopedic injuries including but not limited to:

Yoga Services

Yoga is an ancient practice that can be used for healing the body. At Evolution our physical therapists are also certified yoga instructors or yoga therapists. Alison Aiken PT, DPT, CYT, Meagen Satinsky PT, PYT, Andrea Trombley PT, DPT, E-RYT, Janet Carscadden PT, DPT, E-RYT and Michelle Downing DPT, RYT offer custom yoga programs. A yoga session integrates eastern practices with a western medicine understanding of anatomy, pathology and evidence based treatment practices.Sessions may include breath work, meditation, alignment-based yoga sequences, restorative poses and guided relaxation. The first meeting includes a brief consultation to establish goals for the yoga session and development of a therapeutic yoga sequence.In some instances your physical issue may require a thorough evaluation. In those cases a physical therapy evaluation may be recommended so that a complete assessment can be performed.Fees for private yoga with a physical therapist are as follows:Initial 60-minute Yoga Therapy Consultation – $100
60-minute Yoga  session – $80
45-minute Yoga  session – $60 If integrated into a physical therapy program, yoga therapy is covered by insurance and will be billed according to your insurance contract. New Mom Consult

Now that that you are through the initial new baby moments, it’s time to take a look at you! Evolution Physical Therapy offers a specialized New Mom Consultation, to guide you on the path to recovering your pre-pregnancy functioning.This one-hour evaluation with our Women’s Health Physical Therapists, Andrea Trombley PT, and Meagen Satinsky PT, will address abdominal strength and integrity, pelvic floor function, muscle and joint pain. Common issues addressed include diastasis recti, post c-section abdominal retraining, pelvic floor muscle re-education (proper Kegel exercise), incontinence, pelvic pain, breastfeeding positioning, lifting and carrying recommendations.A woman’s body undergoes its most significant changes during pregnancy and childbirth.    How is your body? Each woman has unique issues which will be addressed within 1 to 6 visits, including a home program. The new mom check-in is covered by insurance and will be billed as a physical therapy visit. New moms must be 6 weeks post delivery, or cleared by the physician if there were complications during the birth. Please give our office a call at 802-864-9642 to schedule an evaluation.

If you are unable to bring the completed forms with you, please arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment to leave time to fill out your paperwork.

Bring your insurance card, a referral from your physician (only needed for Medicaid and Medicare), and notes or diagnostic reports from other providers that may be helpful to your physical therapist. Wear loose comfortable clothing such as shorts for back or lower extremity injuries or a tank top for neck and shoulder injuries.

We have reserved parking for our physical therapy clients right at our front door. You can also park in any of the spots in our lots on Kilburn or on the street.


We directly bill most insurance companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, MVP, Great West, Medicare, Catamount, UVM and Champlain College Student Insurance (CHP), Medicaid, VHAP, Green Mountain Care, Motor Vehicle and Worker’s Compensation.

We are out of network providers for United Healthcare, Aetna and all other insurance companies not listed above. If you have out of network coverage we can direct bill your insurance company. Please call us at 802-864-9642 if you have any questions about coverage.
