Yoga Wall: Release Hips and Low BackTweet
Do you spend too much time at your desk? Too much time in the car? On the couch? You are not alone. The average American adult spends nine to ten hours each day sitting. All this sitting around is doing a disservice to your hips and low back – these areas store tension like a good freezer stores the summer harvest. Long periods of sitting day-in and day-out can impact your health; your body is designed for movement!
Learn how to open up areas of tension in the hips and lower back with use of the yoga wall. We will use straps and slings to support your body in the right places, and provide traction to decrease compression, leading to increased range of motion in the hips and lumbar spine. You will leave with an improved understanding of how to maintain mobility in these areas through a consistent yoga practice.
This workshop is led by physical therapist/yoga instructor Michelle Downing DPT, RYT with specific advanced training on using the Yoga Wall.
