Belly After Baby Workshop
Belly after Baby Workshop with Andrea Trombley, PT – Return to optimal strength and get to know your body again. In this physical therapy workshop, you’ll learn simple exercises you can use every day and as a part of your yoga practice. We’ll focus on anatomy of the pelvic floor and core muscles, core and postural engagement, and strategies to prevent common postpartum issues such as incontinence, back, pelvic and hip pain.
Participants must be at least six weeks postpartum. Please leave baby at home – this workshop is just for you! Cost – $40 for a 2-hour workshop.

Beginner Yoga Series
In this series taught by John McConnell, students work together to learn about practicing yoga in a fun, supportive environment. We work on good alignment principles, learn some breathing and meditation techniques, and begin to explore new postures from the ground up. This series is a great way to commit to practicing and learning. It also always feels good to be in a room with other people around who are practicing at your same level and feel the support and encouragement of other students.

Total Beginner Yoga Series I & II
Total Beginner Yoga
is designed for those who have never taken a yoga class before. In this 6 week series, instructor Rachel de Simone will introduce you to the basics of a hatha yoga practice, with modifications made as needed to accommodate tight bodies. By the end of the series, you will be able to take your new yoga knowledge and begin a home practice, or venture out into the greater yoga community. Rachel creates a safe environment for beginners to feel welcome; all that is required is that you show up ready to try something new, and smile.
This series is appropriate for someone with little to no physical or athletic background.
Total Beginner Yoga II is designed for beginning yoga students who wish to continue to deepen their yoga practice. This 6-week series will build on the foundation created in Total Beginners I to help students develop confidence in their yoga practice.

Going Deeper Workshops
Expand your knowledge of yoga and connect to the local yoga community in these light-hearted, supportive, and inclusive workshops. The Going Deeper workshops have a strong focus on low pressure. Learn how to make your practice, and with that your life, deeper and more fulfilling. The Going Deeper Continuing Education Workshop Series with John McConnell is for students and yoga teachers who want to deepen their understanding of the yoga practice.
Workshops meet each month in the Fall and Winter on Saturdays 2:00-5:00 pm. Fall dates will be posted in August
Intro to the Yoga Wall Workshop
You know that feeling when you get a great adjustment from your yoga teacher during class? As your body settles into proper alignment, stress is reduced and it feels like the pieces just fall into place. The yoga wall is like having someone there to provide this support through all of your postures. This workshop class is an introduction to the use of the wall and will explore how to find good alignment, move deeper into some poses, and struggle less in others. The use of straps and slings helps to guide your body into the right position, supports your body in the right places, and can provide traction to decrease compression. Each of the workshops is led by a physical therapist/yoga instructor with specific advanced training in using the yoga wall. Come discover the possibilities and expand your yoga practice!
This workshop is limited to 12 students.

Living Yoga Kripalu Series with Martha Whitney
Martha offers a mindful and inspiring environment in which people find comfort in their body. Her rich language and individualized guidance help students deepen their practice and self-awareness. Students learn alignment as they cultivate peacefulness and kindness toward themselves. These classes are a great way to start the morning.

Yoga for a Healthy Back Series
This six-week program is designed for people with low back pain who wish to return to yoga practice or explore yoga as a method of managing their back pain. Students will learn basic lumbar spine anatomy, yoga principles and modification of poses that work best for their diagnosis. We will develop a yoga routine that includes breathing exercises, stretches, core strengthening, flowing poses and relaxation exercises. Yoga for a Healthy Back series is taught by Janet Carscadden PT, a licensed physical therapists and certified yoga instructor.

Yoga Therapeutics Workshop: Psoas Release
The psoas is a major muscle that influences the stability and function of the spine, pelvis and hips. Shortness, stiffness and weakness in the psoas can lead to pain and muscle imbalances that throw off your ability to practice yoga and fully participate in recreational, work and home activities. Join Evolution PT and Yoga founder Janet Carscadden PT for this 2 hour workshop that explores yoga based strategies to release tension in the psoas. This workshop is appropriate for all levels from yoga students to yoga instructors. Learn the basic anatomy of the psoas, iliacus and surrounding structures. Explore passive and active poses to reduce tone and over firing of the psoas. Learn how to modify standing poses to lengthen or engage the psoas depending upon how your psoas is functioning. You will leave with a simple home program that you can do to restore balance to your body.

Yoga Therapeutics Workshop: Release the Neck and Upper Back
In this 2.5 hour workshop taught by Meagen Satinsky PT, you will learn yoga postures and techniques to improve flexibility in the mid-back, neck, shoulders, and chest. Class will include some basic anatomy and instruction in poses, breathwork, and relaxation techniques to decrease tension and pain between the shoulder blades and the base of the skull.
If you find yourself with pain and stiffness when hunched over your computer, struggling to avoid slouching at the dinner table, or constantly bending forward to feed or pick up your baby this workshop is for you!
