Dr. Trombley has been a certified yoga teacher since 2012, after completing her 200-hour Anusara-Inspired Yoga Teacher Training program with Todd Norian. She enjoys blending her physical therapy background with yoga philosophy, and finding creative ways to help her patients overcome physical challenges.
Dr. Trombley’s career began at Copley Hospital, in Morrisville, VT, where she treated orthopedic inpatients as well as outpatients, and served as the pediatric PT in the area schools. In 1999, she moved to the Burlington area and began working at Fletcher Allen Healthcare, working with the orthopedic outpatient population. Dr. Trombley’s practice increasingly moved toward treatment of patients with low back and neck pain, and she spent 5 years working with an interdisciplinary team specializing in this area at the Spine Institute of New England. In 2007, Dr. Trombley decided to make the leap from clinician to clinical researcher, taking a position at the University of Vermont with Dr. Sharon Henry, to study low back pain in more depth.
Dr. Trombley specializes in treatment of low back and neck pain, post-natal health including low back and hip pain, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain, and stress urinary incontinence. She is also interested in all aspects of women’s health throughout the lifespan, including problems that occur during menopause, and complications following breast surgery. She has advanced training in pelvic floor therapy including internal evaluations and manual therapy. She teaches a weekly class on the yoga wall, as well as the Yoga for Healthy Backs series.
