Ayurveda Yoga: Embracing Ayurvedic Principals in Therapeutic Yoga

Ayurveda Yoga: Embracing Ayurvedic Principals in Therapeutic Yoga

Ayurveda and yoga are ancient disciplines of balancing body, mind and consciousness. They are intimately connected both in philosophy and in their practical application. Ayurveda offers a profound framework for understanding the human body, our constitution and most importantly how disease occurs along with its root cause. Recognizing that we are energetic expressions of prana and the five basic elements, this concept becomes the foundation by which Ayurveda rests upon. Though the current model of group Yoga classes serve a very powerful and unique niche market, profound inner healing can be found when one preforms a yoga practice that is tailored to their unique mind-body complex. Thus, whether you are looking for a framework to understand individualized, therapeutic yoga practice for you or your clients, students of this class will come away with

(1) Foundations of AyurYoga®

(2) Asana and Pranayama to support Specific ailments of Vata, Pitta and Kapha

(3) Practices for differing Metabolic Types

(4) Asana/Pranayama to Support Digestive Imbalances
